Every
year,senior medical students from the universities in
the United States of America and European countries
come to Indus Hospital for their elective rotation in
community medicine, lasting between 4 - 8 weeks, under
the preceptorship of Balak Verma, MD, formerly, Clinical
Associate Professor of Surgery, Section of Cardio-vascular
and Thoracic Surgery, Wayne State University School
of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
Medical student interested in undertaking their elective
rotation at Indus Hospital should contact the Hospital
well in advance and submit a letter of reference from
their dean / student advisor along with full bio-data
and two passport size photographs. Neither the students
are required to pay any fees to the Hospital nor the
Hospital will pay them any stipend. Boarding, lodging
and transportation costs to and from the Hospital will
be borne by the medical student. Indus Hospital, upon
request, will assist the students in making local arrangements
for boarding and lodging, whenever possible, at discounted
rates in Shimla hotels.
