Permanent employees are expected to sign a service contract for three years. First year of service is probationary. Reasonable private housing accommodations are available on rent in Shimla. Public transportation does not cover every part of the town. Private means of transportation are desirable. Shimla Hills Schools are rated among the best in India.

They may also utilize the established grievance procedures to ensure impartiality and justice.
